The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will carry out reseal works at five sections of road between Gillies Range Road and Tully.
The projects will begin 17 September 2019 and will be carried out from Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm. The works are expected to be complete by the end of November 2019, weather permitting.
Reseal road projects:
Innisfail – Japoon Road
Gillies Range Road
Kurrimine Beach Road
Tully – Mission Beach Road
South Mission Beach Road
For the safety of workers and road users, changed traffic conditions will be in place while the works are carried out.
The highway will be reduced to single lane operation under the coordination of traffic controllers and traffic signals during working hours.
Minor speed reductions may be required outside these hours.
These works will be carried out concurrently as it is essential for this type of work to be undertaken in the cooler dry months of the year to achieve the strongest and best possible road surface.
Road users should expect minor delays at each site and plan their journeys accordingly.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on the sections where works are being undertaken three business day prior to work starting.
More information about road conditions across Queensland’s state-controlled road network is available via TMR’s 13 19 40 Traffic and Travel Information services.
