Serious assault charge, Innisfail: A 35-year-old Banyo man was charged with grievous bodily harm on Tuesday, July 26.

At around 6:45pm on Wednesday it will be alleged the man has walked past an 18-year-old man on River Avenue, Mighell. He then turned back and punched the victim in the mouth causing the front left tooth to dislodge from the gum.

The victim was taken to Innisfail hospital for treatment. The man was located a short time later and was charged with grievous bodily harm whilst adversely affected in public.

He was remanded in custody until October 10.

 

Stolen vehicle, Bingle bay: Police are investigating the theft of a black 2003 Mitsubishi Pajero with Queensland registration number 256KRR from the Bingle Bay area Thursday morning.

Initial reports indicate the vehicle was taken around 7am from a Bingle Bay Road address.

The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys in the vehicle.

Police urge anyone with any information to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote reference number QP1701297694.

Police remind the public that opportunistic thieves target unlocked vehicles and homes.

By ensuring your vehicle and house is locked and secured, you are limiting the chance of your property being stolen.

 

Unlicensed driver: A 23-year-old Tully man was charged with unlicensed driving around 2:30am Friday morning.

Police intercepted the man on Edith Street, Innisfail. Whilst speaking with the driver checks revealed the man was unlicensed.

He was charged with driving a motor vehicle without a driver licence.

The man has never held license and is scheduled to appear at the Innisfail Magistrates Court on August 28.

Driving with a suspended license: On July 26 a 45-year-old Kurrimine man was charged with driving of motor vehicle with a suspended drivers licence.

Police intercepted the man on the Corso, Innisfail around 6pm. Checks revealed the man’s licenses were suspended.

He is due to appear at the Innisfail Magistrates Court on August 14.

 

Driving while disqualified: Cardwell Police intercepted a 34-year-old Mareeba man around 5pm on Wednesday on Victoria Street, Cardwell.

Checks revealed his licence was currently disqualified and his vehicle was not fitted with an interlock.

He was charged with one count each of driving a motor vehicle without a drivers license, being disqualified by court order and driving a motor vehicle other than as allowed under an interlock condition, the vehicle was not fitted with the prescribed interlock.

He is scheduled to appear at the Tully Magistrates Court on August 10.
