“Peter Dawson’s family do not have the words to adequately express the gratitude we feel towards the Mission Beach community.
Innumerable people offered comfort, love and practical support to us at a time when those same people were mourning the deaths of Kerri Pike and Toby Turner as well as Peter.
To everyone who supported us, from providing accommodation, food, transport for those who attended Peters service, venues for both the service and for family to gather, who shared with us tears, hugs and conversations about Peter, I offer our grateful thanks and our sympathy.
The Mission Beach community epitomises compassionate communities in action. I know that you will survive this latest tragedy, I also know that you all, as will we, be changed forever. Grief lasts forever, but memories also last.
Please continue to talk about, laugh about, and celebrate a life well lived.
