Migaloo Visits Mission Beach

Jase from Mission Beach Charters was just returning home from Bedarra Island Resort and a great day snorkelling on the reef, when he stumbled upon a very famous visitor…. Migaloo the white humpback whale.

Migaloo is heading back southwards now after his visit in tropical waters, so Jase was wrapped that he managed to see him.

Migaloo (meaning “white fella” in the indigenous Australians language) is a white humpback whale who was first sighted in 1991 and thought to be 3-5 years old at the time.

“It was a pity that our Bedarra Guests missed him, but Jase informed a few other boats in the area, so at least he could share the spectacle with a few fortunate others”
