UPDATE -> The boil water alert has been called off
The boil water alert now extends to the following areas: Tully town, Feluga, East Feluga, Bulgun, Jarra Ck, Tully Heads, Hull Heads, Silky Oak and Euramo.
Due to high consumption off the mains to Tully Heads and Hull Heads it has been necessary to open the supply valve to recharge the Hyatt St reservoir at Tully.
This means the boil water alert impact area must now include the areas of Tully Heads, Hull Heads, Silkwood and Euramo.
Council apologises for this action but this precautionary measure is mandated by water quality directives from Queensland Health.
Consumers in the alert area must continue to boil their drinking water until advised otherwise.
Council staff are undertaking a thorough program of quality testing and mains flushing to allow the boil water alert to be lifted as soon as possible.
